Medical Students

The Department of Radiology has been committed to becoming fully integrated into the four-year medical student curriculum.  Historically, the fourth-year electives represented the primary opportunities for radiologic education.  Integrated instruction in the first-year curriculum began with the 2011-2012 Anatomy course.  Radiology now contributes to the education of medical students during all four years.

In 2012, the College of Medicine established the position of Discipline Coordinator for Radiology.  Andres (Andy) Ayoob, MD is the inaugural holder of this position; Dr. Ayoob has worked tirelessly to fulfill the Department’s goals of complete and meaningful integration of radiology into all appropriate courses throughout the basic science and clinical experience years of medical student education.
